Faisal is passionate about oriental rugs and about delivering first rate service to his customers. He restored about 8 rugs for us and worked with us every step of the way; from offering us a very reasonable price, to delivering them within our complicated time frame; as we were in the midst of a move. Best of all, he loves what he does; restores these beautiful rugs to their prime and helped us to place them appropriately in our home. His enthusiasm is contagious and we learned much about each individual rug. He and his team are artists, devoted to their craft. We cannot speak highly enough of Oriental Rug Weavers!

He not only cleaned them but did an appraisal and ensured I had the right pads before I left for Anchorage, AK. Faisal is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and has a passion for what he does. I am a repeat customer because I trust him with my family heirlooms. His cleaning process is high quality and impeccable. The hand fringing is beautifully done. Faisal will teach you about the quality, region, and pattern of your particular rug and he treats it as if it were his own. His personal evaluations are quite fascinating. Great pride is taken in his workmanship, but he will not necessarily take the most expensive route if it doesn't make sense. I have found his pricing to be fair and reasonable (after doing some price comparisons), especially considering the cleaning and fringing are hand done. Because he is busy, I do recommend you make an appointment to get the personalized attention he is so good at. Faisal provides a hard to find service above others in terms of quality and craftsmanship.

Oriental Rug Weavers is by far the very best choice – the only choice in our opinion – for anything related to oriental rugs, whether you’re purchasing, cleaning or repairing a rug – particularly the latter in our case. The owner, Faisal, has unequaled knowledge and integrity and takes tremendous pride in his work which is why he gets such great ratings. He’s an absolute master and true artisan! We had a very large handmade, family heirloom oriental rug that was far too big for the living room in our new home. We did not want to sell it because of its sentimental value and the thought of cutting it down to fit the room made us cringe – but it was the only option since we wanted to keep it. We spoke with a couple of other well-known oriental rug dealers and cleaners in the northern Virginia area and none of them were comfortable reducing the size of the rug since it was handmade. Then we found Oriental Rug Weavers and Faisal. Faisal said it would be a very difficult task and explained in meticulous detail how the rug would have to be cut and restitched. Because the rug was handmade, the stiches were not perfectly aligned going across the rug, so it was not simply a matter of cutting the rug and sewing it back together. It sounded impossible and we were very doubtful that the rug would ever look okay after it was cut, but we proceeded anyway because of our trust in Faisal. When Faisal called and told us the rug was ready we purposefully did not pick it up for a week because we were afraid of how bad it was going to look and needed to muster up the courage to go. OMG were we wrong!!! The job Faisal and team did was unbelievable! We couldn’t even tell where the rug was cut until he pointed it out. How they were able to cut and reattach the rug with a virtually invisible seam is still a marvel to us! The rug is now the statement piece in our home and nobody is the wiser that it was resized. Choosing Oriental Rug Weavers and Faisal is choosing the best!

Since Oriental Rug Weavers was recommended by an acquaintance I called them out of the blue for advice in researching a rug I purchased from an estate. They were so very kind and accepted photos via email and got back to me almost instantaneously. The amount of knowledge the gentleman (Faisal) shared overwhelmed me. He knew absolutely everything about the rug from just looking at the pictures. He identified the region it came from, what the designs meant, the quality and consistency of the fibers, and even said he may know who weaved the rug. Totally an outrageous amount of exciting information - truly an expert in his field. If you need a rug this would be the place to go for open, honest consults to purchasing. I would more than highly recommend their (cleaning or repair) services as they obviously have earned respect over the years and are quite an authority - totally committed carpet experts. You just don't find that expertise and service today. You can trust them to guide you well and take the utmost care with your treasures because they understand every inch of your rug. The gentleman went above and beyond my expectations yet expected nothing in return. He seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge and it was a pleasure to speak with him. Simply the best!

It is my pleasure to recommend Faisal Khan and Oriental Rug Weavers to anyone who appreciates truly wonderful, caring customer service, quality workmanship and expert knowledge of Oriental Rugs. We recently "inherited" two rugs, a large Persian Kazvin and a smaller Tabriz, both of which were dirty and stained and appeared to us to have little value. Oriental Rug Weavers meticulously cleaned the rugs, added new fringe and appraised the rugs at a value which surprised and delighted us. We had considered selling them, but after we saw the amazing job Mr. Khan had done, we decided to keep them both. They are now our most prized possessions. We were so pleased with the results that we purchased a rug for our dining room from Oriental Rug Weavers just yesterday. Faisal Khan recommended a dining room rug which he believed would work well with our living room Kazvin. We are thrilled with the result. Not only is Mr. Khan knowledgable and trustworthy about the rugs he sells, he is a good "decorator" as well. And, happily for us, we feel that we have made a new friend. I also tried cleaning it multiple times myself and clearly made it worse. It became more course and I damaged the rug. After the rug was cleaned and repaired, I was shocked to see the repairs had brought back the designs I had "cleaned" away and it is so incredibly soft!!! I would even left my baby crawl on it. I would recommend oriental rug weavers without hesitation. You may even find out a little history behind your rug as well like we did.

This place does excellent work. I brought a kilim in to be cleaned. My husband injured his foot and got blood on the carpet. I thought dried blood on wool would never come out, but the shopkeeper assured me that they would do their best to recover the original color and beauty of the rug. Sure enough, when I picked up my carpet after cleaning it looked almost as good as when I bought it years ago. I m very satisfied and would use them again. Their prices seem a bit expensive, but you are paying for quality, craftsmanship, and true expertise.

They were wonderful and the owner Mr. Faisal Khan provided a lot of background information about the three carpets we brought in. We had purchased three carpets while we were living in Azerbaijan and knew very little about the carpets. He not only provided information on the rugs, he also helped us by installing loops on the backs of the carpets so that we could hang them. He also mentioned that they needed to be cleaned. I thought the carpets looked beautiful already, but the cleaning made them gorgeous...never thought they could be that shiny! I highly recommend Oriental Rug Weavers and we will continue to return to their shop in years to come to get our carpets cleaned again!

While visiting the store I saw examples of rugs ORW received to repair the shoddy work done by the other guys. Faisal Khan is a master at his business. He was not only able to clean and repair my carpets but he also told me about their origins and gave me the background I had been missing. My rugs look great and feel fabulous under foot. The repairs done were superior and have added years to the life of my carpets. Beyond the service I received, Faisal proved himself extremely knowledgeable, a man that clearly prides himself in this trade. He has a tremendous knowledge of rugs, their origin, quality and background. It is worth it to stop in if only to learn more about this fascinating history. I had bought 3 oriental rugs at an auction and had been told by the auctioneer that they were silk. I was not provided a certificate of authenticity, but I didn't know that one should get something like that with oriental rugs. Three years later I hired Faisal to come out and appraise them for insurance purposes. He quickly informed me that these were not real silk, but artifical silk, and armed with his appraisal I was able to go back to the auction company and return the rugs for store credit. I decided to stay away from getting rugs at the next auction and went with paintings that had certificates of authenticity. Bottom line: Any new rugs I buy will be from his store because they come with certificates of authenticity -- no more rugs bought at auctions for me. On the basis of my pesonal experiance I will gladly recomend Oriental Rug Weavers to anyone who is in the market for a beautiful rug or have any kind of rug servicing need.

I found Faisal extremely honest. He told me up front that not all of my rugs were worth putting a lot of money in but all of them could be cleaned. He hand washed all of the rugs. On most of them he resewed the edges and added new fringe to many of them. On one of the rugs that had been faded he helped restore some of the color. When he brought them to my home he helped me decide the best places to place them on the floor and hanging on the walls. My experience with Faisal has been excellent.

Having just bought a lovely used Chinese rug in desperate need of cleaning, I selected Oriental Rug Weavers in Vienna because of their good customer reviews. My experience from beginning to end was professional, friendly, and satisfying. Mr Faisal Khan, the owner, provided me with an explanation of the cleaning process, what could be cleaned (odors, most stains), what could not, the exact cost in writing, and time it would take. He is both, knowledgeable about fine rugs, and appreciates the value and craftsmanship they represent. Mr Khan also cares about building a good relationship with his customers. A small amount of repair was done on the fringe, and the rug was delivered, both free of charge. I recommend Oriental Rug Weavers without qualifications, and will definitely be a repeat customer. My only regret is not having more money to spend on his beautiful rugs.

I was impressed with his and his staff's knowledge, not only about how these rugs are woven and specific areas where they are from, but of the processes necessary to restore them to their full beauty. As an interior designer in the DC area, I am happy to have a great resource for beautiful rugs as well as rug repair/custom projects. For this particular project, I had three rugs that I needed to make into one large area rug - not an easy feat. Oriental Rug Weavers took their time in assessing the project to make sure it could be done to their standards, planning out the dimensions so that each stripe would line up perfectly, and executed the project to perfection. I know that it took them much longer than they originally expected due to challenges with this rug's particular weave, but they did not rush the job at all - instead they took extra time to make sure it was perfect. And indeed, it was! My client and I are very pleased. I will definitely be returning to Oriental Rug Weavers for special projects or to purchase from their beautiful selection!

My daughter spilled blue FOOD COLOR on my finest silk Persian carpet. The stain was iPad size and it seemed almost impossible to clean it but they did a beautiful job ! I needed to replace 3 Chinese-style, Oriental rugs that had been damaged. After looking in several major department stores and a few local carpet shops, I realized that it would be very hard to find many high-quality, Peking-style rugs in ivory and in the sizes I needed. Luckily I spotted these reviews on-line and decided to stop by the store in Vienna. Faisal greeted me and looked at the small, sample rug that I brought with me along with a few photos on my digital camera. He showed me the few Chinese-style rugs he carried since this style is not very popular anymore. Faisal noted the color and dimensions I needed for the 3 rugs and promised to check in his warehouse and with several manufacturers for the type I wanted. A few days later, he emailed me a zip file with pictures of 5 different, high-quality Chinese rugs with the dimensions available in each pattern. There was more than 1 style that I liked but I ordered the one pattern that was available in the 3 sizes that I needed. Three business days after I placed my order, Faisal called me to let me know that the 3 rugs were available for pick-up or he could deliver them to my home. The rugs look beautiful and I know I would never have found hand-knotted, Peking rugs like these on my own - especially in the color and dimenions I needed. He saved me so much time and aggravation. I highly recommend Faisal for his incredible customer service and his ability to track down the type of rug that you require.

I took two rugs that I had inherited to Faisal Khan for an appraisal. He impressed me immediately with his knowlege. He was able to tell me before the rugs were even fully unrolled where and how each rug was made, the materials used, and the repairs each needed. I was hesitant to get the repair work done. I had only wanted an appraisal, and the repairs would cost more than I had budgeted. However, when Faisal showed me examples of his team's work, I was sold. Their work is clearly superior to anything I have seen--especially in comparison to the relatively shoddy repair work that one of my rugs had previously. When I returned to pick up the rugs, I could not believe my eyes. The rugs were so much improved that I almost didn't recognize them. The richness of color, pile, and new fringe work were amazing. To top it off, Faisal had corrected the color of mis-matched fibers on one rug at no extra charge. The appraisals were well documented, too. In summary, I am more than pleased with Faisal and his crew. I consider their work a tremendous value, and thanks to them I will be able to display these family heirlooms for years and hand them down to my descendants.

We took a 35+ year old machine-made Karastan to Faisal for cleaning and repair. The rug had some damage caused by cats and needed new fringe. The quality of repair was outstanding. I had trouble finding the spot the cats had damaged, it was repaired so well. The fringe had been put on by Bergmann's a few years ago, but there was no comparison with the quality of the new fringe or the attachment. The price was exactly as quoted by Faisal. We were very happy with Faisal's knowledge and willingness to work with us and with the quality of their work. We would recommend them to anyone. Tom R

I brought 2 oriental rugs to this store for appraisal and cleaning. I mis-read the store hours and arrived 2 hours before the scheduled opening. When I called Faisal he immediately came to meet with me. He is friendly, honest and very easy to converse with without the typical high pressure sales pitch that I have encountered with previous rug dealers. His rugs are of the highest quality and very reasonably priced. I only wished I had known about this rug shop before my purchase because I saw better quality rugs for a lesser price than I paid for mine. I will need to look no other place for our next rug purchase.

I’m so glad I stumbled on the Oriental Rug Weavers website! With Faisal Khan’s first visit to look at my rugs, I knew I was dealing with someone who not only knows his business – but loves it as well. I had been frustrated for 40 years with a room-sized oriental rug that had never lain flat. I constantly had to rearrange the folds that were created by walking on it. Faisal immediately told me I had placed the rug in the wrong direction. Walking on the rug placed in that direction had actually increased its getting out of shape! Who knew? He assured me he could clean the rug, install the correct pad and all would be fine. And it was. I love my “new” rug! Finally! Faisal also suggested to me that I actually use the inherited rugs that I had stowed under a bed because I thought they would “clutter up” the room. They also weren’t in the best of condition. Lo and behold, when I placed the area rugs on the floor, the rooms “popped” with a wonderfully finished look! In fact, he has repaired one of the rugs with new fringe (saving the pattern that was being destroyed by lack of fringe) and repaired the side weaving, giving me a wonderfully restored rug that I am now enjoying and not hiding under the bed! Few people I have run across have Faisal's energy and diligence. He seems completely invested in the business, which he operates with great pride in his craftsmanship and professionalism. He learned carpets as a child, and you can tell it's in his blood. He knows them as you would only if you grew up with them. And once you become a client, you will not suffer from lack of attention. Carpet dealers do not always have a sterling reputation, but Faisal has earned our trust by never failing to follow through. He does not rush his work; to the contrary, he has had one of our rugs -- one the dog had half eaten -- for months. This is not because he's slow; it's because he's not about to return it until it meets his standards. This is important, not only for the obvious reasons, but because his standards include knowledge I lack about what makes for quality. He literally puts more into his work than you can see at first blush. My wife and I consider ourselves fortunate to have run across Faisal. I think this was implicit in what he said, but just to spell it out: we had several quite damaged rugs thanks primarily to our dog, who both chewed on them and soiled them. We wanted to get them cleaned and repaired but I had no idea how to do this. Our prior experience with a local rug cleaning company was quite bad -- they kept the rugs a long time and they did not come back in markedly better shape than they went out. By luck we walked into Faisal's store during a local fair, and from the description of what he did it sounded as if he might be able to do what we needed. Rugs that I thought were beyond rescue look just great. My 70+ year-old Turkish Kulim Rug was in dire need of repair, primarily due to improper cleaning from a previous company which had severely weaken and loosen the weave, and from my cat using it as a scratching pad. By luck I found Oriental Rug Weavers one day while visiting Vienna. The owner, Faisal Khan, impressed me from the start with his knowledge of Oriental rugs, their restoration and their care. I trusted him with my Kulim rug and the result is astounding. The rug basically was rewoven and areas re-dyed. I now have a beautifully restored rug not only in its beauty but also in its value. After this positive experience, Oriental Rug Weavers then cleaned and repaired my Afghan Baloch rug which had small holes and loose fringe, and cleaned my Flokati rug which I had been wary of due to the fragile nature of its backing. As I expected, I am extremely happy with the results. All rugs were fitted with a proper size rug pad and on-going home care of each the rugs was discussed. I had a custom wool braided rug from Stark Carpets that no other company would touch but that was in dire need of cleaning and repair. Professional cleaning efforts on the surface had been totally inadequate. After finding Oriental Rug Weavers online, I made one last call to Faisal who said that he would take on the challenge. He arrived within hours to pick up the rug, and carefully explained exactly how he would go about deep cleaning the rug. First he explained the process of thoroughly washing and then drying the rug so that it would keep its shape and size . At his shop, by examining the way the rug had been fabricated, he figured out how to repair the damaged areas. He matched the color and type of yarns perfectly. He then hand-dyed a few areas that had lost color in the process of cleaning deep stains. When he returned the rug, he brought a new pad for it - one that was more appropriate than the original pieced pad. The rug looks like the day it arrived brand new. He charged me exactly the amount of his reasonable estimate and brought back the rug exactly when promised. He showed me proudly all the places that he had re-sewn, re-woven, and re-dyed. The newly-cleaned top side of the rug is now virtually identical to the never-exposed underside. I feel so pleased to have met Faisal and his wonderful family operation and to know that my family and rugs have a friend for life!

I inherited from my folks 3 very old Northern Afghani rugs that needed a lot of TLC. They had travelled around the world with my family for 40+ years, were used by numerous animals as beds and unfortunately the occasional chew toy, and hadn't been cleaned in years. ORW (both Nasir and Faisal) came to my house, assessed these and three other newer rugs, suggested what work was worth and not worth doing, and gave me an on-site estimate The cleaning alone rendered phenomenal results - for one rug I had no idea it had such vibrant colours. Several required reweaving - the worst had a corner (about 5"x5") chewed off which was recreated and the design match is so good its near impossible to find. Another had a hole in the center - again the reweaving of the design is so finely detailed its invisible. All the rugs required repairs of the edges; for some the ends needed to be trimmed to correct for wearing; and all had to have the fringe fixed and locked to prevent unraveling. To preserve them further, ORW fitted the 3 oldest rugs with hanging loops, so I can enjoy them as wall art rather than floor coverings. I must admit, I was unprepared for the overall results (the exquisite quality of the repairs and cleaning), although both Nasir and Faisal assured me that I would be pleased. I grew up with these rugs so it was important to me to preserve them and the memories they held. ORW has allowed me and my family to be able to enjoy them for many more years.

In addition they provide design consultation in your own home and appraisals. I took some valuable and very precious old, worn and tired rugs to them and got back two, sparkling, brand-new rugs that cheer me every time I see them. The result is I have now given them another rug and have plans to give them several others. The high standards that they set for their work and their aim to please is a such a welcome relief from the miserable customer service that one often has to contend with. I was looking for a place to have three carpets appraised that I bought overseas. I found Oriental Rug Weavers in Vienna to be very knowledgeable, reasonable, and honest. Faisal Khan, the owner, carefully examined the rugs explaining in detail the history and quality of each. As he appraised each one, he brought out comparisons from his inventory to show me the differences and explain the how and where each one was made. Faisal also cut custom carpet pads to extend the life of the rugs and delivered them to my house the same day. I will certainly return to Oriental Rug Weavers for future carpet needs and would highly recommend them to others. We brought in our Persian rug to have loops sewn on the back in order to hang the rug on the wall. Apparently this rug was very high quality and the loops were hard to sew due to the tight stitching of the crafters. The men at Oriental Rug Weavers sewed the loops in without effecting the look of the rug, which was an extremely hard and detailed task. It looks great and you can't even tell there is something sewn into the back of the rug. The cleaning came out perfect and it was nice to have it appraised as well. They were also very knowledgeable about everything, which is reassuring when dealing with expensive rugs like these! Overall, excellent job and will definitely be returning for services in the future!

I will take good luck anytime it comes my way! I picked Oriental Rug Weavers off the Vienna merchants web site to buy a pad for a rug I bought in Tashkent. Faisal Khan, the owner, is a very personable guy, and we got to talking about the rug I wanted for the dining room AFTER I bought the furniture. Faisal said, "No. You buy the rug first, then the furniture." Well - turns out Faisal is quite the decorator as well as a good salesman. I showed him a few pictures of the house interior, which gave him enough to work with, and he came to visit with six rugs to try. One was a perfect blend of size, color, and pattern, and it even worked well with the Tashkent rug in the adjoining room (he knew that of course). He gave us lots of good decorating ideas and color suggestions that will help us in several rooms, and he made us a very fair price. Highly recommend Faisal

I was looking for a place to adapt a small silk rug my husband had bought to hang on the wall, and walked into the shop 3 days before I needed it for his birthday. Although Faisal Khan, the owner, was not sure he could do it in time, he called me 2 days later to say it was finished. The work was impeccable, and I had a very informative conversation with him. Last spring, my husband picked up a small silk rug while traveling. His intention was to make a wall hanging from it, but he hadn't found anyone to tell him how to do it. I suggested that he try Oriental Rug Weavers, but he wasn't able to make the time. Since he was out of town, and his birthday was last week, I decided to take it in on Monday and see if we could do anything but Thursday morning, when we were going out of town. Faisal, the owner, said he would do what he could, but wasn't sure he would have it by Thursday, and since it needed to be done anyway, I left it with him. On mid-day Wednesday he called me to say it was finished and I could come get it, which I did on my way home from work. He told me he had stayed up very late the night before to watch the election returns and finish the hanging loops. I was so pleased that he had gone the extra mile for a customer he had never seen before, the craftsmanship was impeccable, and since after 24 years, it's hard to find something to surprise my husband, I was very excited, and so was he. We will certainly return for service on our rugs, as well as to look before any purchase.

Faisal did such an amazing job cleaning and repairing my rugs that they looked brand new. I could hardly believe the amount of grime and dirt that must have been embedded in the rugs over the years. I searched and searched to find 3 rugs for my living room, dining room and entrance area and was about ready to give up when I happened to stop into Oriental Rug Weavers. I was greeted by Faisal Khan, the owner, who was incredibly helpful and "not the pushy rug salesman" I expected. He showed me some rugs that I thought I liked but it was so hard tell what would go with my decor. Within minutes he closed up his shop and drove over to my house to see exactly what would work perfectly. The next day he brought several rugs over to my house to try them out. I wasn't sure how I was going to coordinate all 3 rugs, and I definitely didn't expect to buy 3 oriental rugs, but Faisal had the interior decorator eye and knew exactly what my house needed. Within a short period of time I had 3 incredibly beautiful rugs which I am totally in love with, as are every relative and neighbor who's stepped foot in my house. Faisal even came back the next day to help me put the rug grippers under the rugs properly. Thank you so much for all your help and patience!
